The spectrum included with Spider Farmer lights is exactly what you want and need for growing cannabis, or other types of plants. It consists of 3000K white, 5000K white, 660nm Red, and 760nm Infrared diodes. All together they make up a nice full spectrum white light.

Spider Farmer lights feature a dimmable Mean Well driver. The dimmer is a bit of a pain to adjust since it’s located on the underside of the driver. You need to unscrew the Mean Well driver from the LED board so you can access the under side of the driver where the dimmer is located.

With that said, you won’t need to adjust the intensity very often. Once during seedling phase of growth and then back to full power for vegetative and flowering phases of growth.

In spite of the grow light being a Chinese product, it has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars, which is quite high. Majority of the products that get such high ratings are models from other parts of the world such as the US or UK. This is because some people feel that Chinese products do not deliver what they claim to deliver. However, Spider Farmer Grow Light is one of the highly rated grow lights in the market with some of the growers claiming that they own more than one model of the sf line. Many of the customers like the design describing it as simple and polished. Others like the full coverage it provides to the crops while others like the price, which they say is much more affordable than many other LED grow lights in the market. Other high ratings are on the great customer service and the safety of the product. Overall, we can all agree that spider farmer sf-4000W is a hit.

In conclusion

If you have decided on a quantum board light, there are only a few good options to consider. American brand (but Chinese made) HLG lights with their high prices, Mars Hydro TS or SP series lights with their lower quality Epistar chips, or these Spider Farmer lights.

As mentioned above, I would go with Mars or Spider Farmer and choose whichever has fixtures that best cover the size of my grow space. All else being equal, I would prefer the Samsung chips in the SF lights, over the Epistar chips in the Mars lights.
